Pro-Trump activists who say they are in coordination with the White House are circulating a 17-page draft executive order that claims China interfered in the 2020 election as a basis to declare a national emergency that would unlock extraordinary presidential power over voting.
Resolves based on whether a national emergency is declared by Trump (or by a future president) that, according to major news media, relates to elections or voting, before the 2028 election.
I'd like to hear arguments for why this doesn't happen by default. (Preferably sound and true ones!)
@Haiku One reason is that reports similar to this have not come true in the past - last fall the Treasury Secretary indicated that they would be declaring a national emergency on housing, and that just didn't happen. And that was at least someone who definitely has influence in the White House, while this report cites "Pro-Trump activists who say they are in coordination with the White House".
